To meet unprecedented demand for Silver bullion, the U.S. Mint produced a small quantity of 500,000 2021 Silver Eagles at the Philadelphia Mint. This sealed monster box is identified by its serial number as being one of the only 1,000 boxes produced.
The U.S. Mint does not sell its bullion coins directly to the public. Instead, they distribute their coins to only a handful of authorized purchasers, like APMEX, who then sell the coins to the public.
